Family Medicine
Born and raised in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, Dr. Estella Hernandez received her degrees in medicine and public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. “I wanted to return as a doctor to my community because I wanted to give back the same health care that my family and I were fortunate to receive when I was growing up," she says. “I believe in providing equality of health care to all patients, regardless of their insurance status." Dr. Hernandez is fluent in English and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys art and jogging.
Nacida y criada en el vecindario La Villita (Little Village) en Chicago, la Dra. Estella Hernández recibió sus títulos de medicina y salud pública de la University of Illinois en Chicago y realizó su residencia médica en el Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Certificada por el Consejo Estadounidense de Medicina Familiar, ella también es miembro de la Academia Estadounidense de Médicos Familiares. “Quería regresar como médico a mi comunidad porque quería brindar la misma atención médica que mi familia y yo tuvimos la suerte de recibir mientras yo me criaba,” dice. “Creo en proveer igualdad de cuidado médico a todo paciente, independientemente de su estatus de seguro médico.” La Dra. Hernández habla inglés y español con fluidez. En su tiempo libre, disfruta del arte y le gusta correr.
